Arguably the hottest Android smartphone of 2012, the Samsung Galaxy S III, goes toe to toe with one of the hottest gadget from CES, the Xperia Z by Sony.

Although approaching 10-months-old, the Galaxy S III still features what many would consider high-end specifications: 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display, 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos chip (or 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 in U.S. variants), 8-megapixel camera, between 16 and 64GB of built-in storage, 1GB RAM (2GB for U.S. models) and a 2,100mAh battery. The Xperia Z, however, offers bleeding edge technology in the form of a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, 5-inch 1080p display, 13.1-megapixel camera, 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage and a 2,330mAh battery.

The true differences come down to design, build quality and software features. Which one comes out on top?

  1. Hi I want an Urgent Reply Please My Question Is  I want Mobile mainly For Best Capturing Pictures!  And I Want The Cell  Between Sony Xperia Z or Galaxy S3
Which would be a Better Option For Cpturing Pictures?
Please Answer Me As Soon As Possible!

  2. Just bought a new unlocked Xperia Z for $239. Looking forward to unboxing it. I love my Galaxy S Duo but the screen is a little small. I would like to do all my computing on a smart phone and stop using my Chromebook. Hopefully the screen on the Sony will be big enough. I'm hoping I can make free Wi-Fi Google Hangout calls and send SMS texts that won't use my T=Mobile data or minutes.  Do I have to use it without the SIM card to be able to do this?

  3. I have both these phones and the color difference is my biggest problem.
I love the design of the Xperia Z, but pictures look so much better on the S3. It's a huge difference.
Like if the color is supposed to be dark Green, the S3 displays the color exactly as it's supposed to be, while the Xperia Z will display very light Green instead of Dark Green.

  4. I`m Xperia J user and i have to say: 1. Xperia`s are very good devices in therm of build quality. The thing that let them down is software. Even with poor device like mine solution is obivous. Get rid of Sony crappy software. Put CM or SlimKat and your device will fly. 2. If u care about display that much in XZ remove the plastic cover of display. 3. I`ve never heard about xperia`s hardware issues at all. 4. XZ  averages are those which make phone awsome. 5. You want good sound-buy a BT speaker. You want the good video-put HDMI. Extras and software are manageable, but build quality no it isn`t. So i vote for Xperia Z. And yeah, none of Xperia devices will require new battery after 3 months.

  6. I know this isn't very relevant to the video, but does anyone here know whether or not you can easily get Straight Talk on a Sony Xperia Z2 (yes, Z2), and where? I'm going to get my first smartphone soon (now that I've got my first real job). Any help is very much appreciated.

  7. The Xperia Z screen is also better than the s3 screen. The Xperia Z has pretty much the same screen as the HTC One. Everything is so sharp because of the 441ppi. The s3 only has 306ppi. The Xperia Z has 135ppi more!! Crazy.
