Sony announced the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL in January at CES. The higher-end of the two, the Xperia Z, is water-proof and dust-proof, features a 5-inch 1080p Reality Display with Sony Mobile Bravia Engine 2, 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chip, a 13.1-megapixel camera, 2.2-megapixel front-facing camera, 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage with a microSD card slot and a 2,330mAh battery.

Google’s Nexus 4, manufactured by LG, is several months old. It was originally released in November, and has only just started to age at all. It features a 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus display at WXGA resolution, the same 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chip as the Xperia Z, 2GB RAM, 8GB or 16GB of built-in storage, a 2,100mAh battery and an 8-megapixel camera.

On the outside, these two devices are very different. The software has its differences, too. And the price points are radically different. But the outcome is very similar: two high-end devices that offer a spectacular experience.

  1. as recent as this is the xperia z is 350 right now, still great phone, haven't had any problems other than data issues with at&t, phone runs great, my brother has the nexus 4 and its been getting outta shape, issues with google and calling, i have had this phone for 4 days already unlike damian below me, and its running great, there are plenty features that can save battery and still run amazingly well, other than getting rid of future word guessing this phone is wonders, i also have a iphone 4, but what else its an iphone, i hate itunes and idnt wana have the hassle to update music  using that one program and i dnt wana pay a streaming music service just to listen the songs i already have, the iphone is stupid proof, meant for the average joe to pick and use quickly with not much customization. sure hack it but again ihave to go through loop holes just to get what i want. Sony so far hasnt bothered me yet and works great, amazing resolution and water resistant is great, omg covers and shields on the ports, who gives a crap, great it gives more protection when anything could occur, im glad sony had that, my last black berry phone had the port open and on a rainy day it got messed up, here i can cover it up when im not using it, and i have blue tooth headset to listen to music, i would use the iphone but oh wait i cant use that cant i apple, not dissing the phone its simple and easy but its not all user friendly

  2. Experia z is crap I had one it lasted 3days I gotta tested they told me the phone is dead and the charging port is broke never buy a phone from Sony gotta nexus 4 love it nothing wrong with it apart from the screen is extremely sensitive if you drop it will crack and it will cost a lot to get it fixed

  3.      DO YOU KNOW THAT CHRISTIANITY IS CORRECT? THE WORLD AROUND US REVEALS THAT GOD DOES EXIST, AND THE HISTORICAL EVIDENCE REVEALS THAT JESUS CHRIST REALLY DID COME TO THIS EARTH AND THERE IS OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE THAT HE PHYSCALLY ROSE FROM THE DEAD.
JESUS IS COMING AGAIN AND THE SIGNS OF THE END TIMES THAT WERE FORETOLD IN THE BIBLE ARE COMMING TO PASS, AND THAT ISLAM IS THE ANTICHRIST SYSTEM!

  4. Phones are so much cheaper in America for some reason. Where I live the Nexus 4 was 400 euros which is 552 dollars. Also the Xperia z was about 50 euros more expensive.

  5. I think this reviewer favored the Xperia Z over the Nexus 4. A very biased review and he kept the camera on the Xperia Z 70 percent of the video.

  6. I like the xperia more than the nexus looks nicer, larger so fits your hands, brilliant games, like an iphone , you adapt very easily and its an all around brilliant smartphone

  7. No. Con el 4 está bastante igualado, excepto en videos y fotos eso sí, pero tengo un amigo con el Z y reconoce que el n4 mio, va más fluido. El 5 simplemente lo destrozará
