At Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona Sony unveiled a new lineup of smartphones called Xperia X, replacing its well known flagship the Xperia Z. When it designed the Xperia X, Xperia XA, and Xperia X Performance, Sony decided to focus on improving specs that are important to users instead of piling on extra features that are more flashy than useful.

The biggest improvements come in the form of battery life and camera. While new battery technology called Qnovo is also introduced.

The Xperia X line doesn’t feel as high-end as the Z used to be, but it represents a new thrust for the Japanese tech company, and is most likely a push to breathe new life into its smartphone efforts.

This is our Xperia X Hands On and First Look.

  1. It's a shame that X performance n X dun have thin bezels like the XA. The camera seems promising. If they put QHD display for X performance while retaining long battery life, they'll do against other flagships on the market right now. Maybe the next generation will do.

  2. 2:21 how does that statement even make sense? AFAIK not a single manufacturer released a phone with a snapdragon 618/650 or 620/652 for that matter in 2015.
both cpu's were announced at the same event in 2015.

  3. I love that instant photo button. I've lost count of the number of times I've been jabbing at my iphone screen just trying to launch the camera to catch something. Of course by the time I get the camera open, whatever I wanted to photograph has ended. Although that end blooper bit you made shows the problem with onscreen home/back button lol

  4. this is basically a z5 with a different design and marginally faster processor… You don't even get the 4k features that the z5P came with.

On a side note, any idea when the galaxy s7 review is gonna be posted?
