Science Fiction Predictions That Became Reality
Many technologies that were described in old films have now appeared in the real world. A video uploaded on YouTube shows 10 science fiction predictions that came true. The video has been watched by more than 33 thousand YouTube users. These are some of the technologies that were never present in reality but appeared in films a couple of decades ago.
Artificial Intelligence Technology
An old movie “2001: A Space Odyssey” showed the artificial intelligence technology that is now real. The film was released in 1968 featuring HAL, a computer that can talk and has a voice recognition feature.
The TV series “The Six Million Dollar Man” in 1974, featured characters with bionic limbs or artificial limbs. It gives the character strength and super speed. Now, robot technology allows humans to get bionic implants which help people with disabilities.
A book entitled, “A Brave New World” describes advancing development in reproductive technology. The book that appeared in 1932 describes the world, where babies can be created. Today, though creating a baby is not possible, artificial insemination has turned into something real.
In 1904, Mark Twain wrote a short story called “From the ‘London Times’ of 1904.” He describes an invention called the “telelectroscope,” in the story. Telectroscope can create a world network for sharing information. He described the Internet more than a century ago.
Graphic User Interface
“Minority Report,” the film, released in 2002, shows a version of Graphic User Interface (GUI) that is very sophisticated. A character in the film can manipulate data using movement and gesture. Now, touch screen technology is already very familiar with the community of users of gadgets.
