Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) released its iOS 4 software Monday afternoon via iTunes for 3G, 3GS and iPhone 4 models, which pre-ordered customers will receive this Thursday.
Users can download the latest mobile operating system through Apple’s iTunes store, which will allow users to run multiple applications simultaneously, and comes with a gaming platform, an in-built advertising system and Apple’s iBook app.
The multitasking app will allow users to place various apps into folders, and is only compatible with the 3GS and iPhone 4 models.
An additional enhanced mail program will allow for related messages to be kept in sync via threads.
iOS 4 will come built-in to the iPhone 4 software.
Shares of Apple are trading up 0.29% Monday afternoon at $274.88.
