Could the iPhone 7 mark the death of Apple’s iconic home button?
Blurry new images possibly revealing the front of the highly anticipated phone appear to show the button has been replaced by a touch-sensitive pad.
The leak, which has not been verified, also shows that the front camera and proximity sensor have been moved.
Sources told MobiPicker that the new home button design makes it level with the rest of the device and it cannot be pressed in.
Users will have to perform tapping actions for different functions, like tap and hold for Siri or double tap to see open apps, sources said.
However, other websites have claimed the leak is fake and the pictures instead show an upcoming Android phone.
Little is known for sure about the iPhone 7, even though it could be released in as little as three months’ time.
There have been plenty of rumours and leaks of varying reliability, but Apple have kept shtum about the new phone.
