A new report out of China has claimed that the new iPhone models will be waterproof, corroborating previous reports. Additionally, the purported specifications of the rumoured 4-inch iPhone 6c have surfaced for the first time on the Internet.
China-based Commercial Times (via DigiTimes) citing a research firm reports that Taiwan-based Catcher Technology will be the largest supplier of metal chassis to Apple for the upcoming iPhone models. Adding further, the report has claimed that Apple will be using a compound material for the upcoming iPhone models that will hide the antenna bands on the phone’s body. It added that Catcher Technology supply is expected to account for 30-35 percent of the new iPhone shipments.
Talking about overall industry, the report suggested that demand for metal chassis from other companies will account for 40 percent in the first half of 2016.
