Australia will set up traffic lights in the ground for the mobile users safety
For the sake of mobile users safety, the New South Wales state government from Australia decided to set up traffic lights in the ground so that they can be aware of the street rather than looking on the mobile screen when they pass through. Initially, it will be a six-month trial of the traffic lights which will cost $250,000 in Australian dollar.
Our life circle is cramped in the whirlpool of modern technology, including huge social platform and other medias. These have made our life busier than ever, even sometime we forget that where we are and are not aware of any catastrophe that can happen within a blink of eyes.
So many lives have been perished because of the lack of awareness ,like in 2015, 61 pedestrians lost their life due to sudden road accidents on NSW streets, in comparison with the 49 percent expansion from 2014.
According to Mashable, Centre for Road Safety Executive Director Bernard Carlon said,
“Pedestrians are less protected in a road crash, and are therefore more likely to be seriously injured or killed. This is why we need to create a road system that keeps them safe, and this includes situations when they may not be paying attention.”
The project for the new under-pedestrian activity lights hasn’t been actualized yet, however they will be introduced in five spots in Sydney’s local business region.
According to the project, Carlon also said that
“The lights are aimed at pedestrians using mobile phones who are not looking where they are walking, they will serve as another layer of warning on top of existing lights and signals.”
The activity was reported as a component of the Towards Zero promoting effort, which means to highlight the human effect of accidents and street fatalities.
However, Australia is not the only country which is concerned about setting up traffic lights in the ground but also German government wants to aware cell phone freaks – individuals who are often caught getting busy with their smart devices on the streets while passing through.
This initiative must aware people to pass the streets carefully and would safe their life from a sudden disaster.
