Apple retiree Bob Mansfield to lead Apple car project
Bob Mansfield, who has been working at Apple since 1999, will oversee the Project Titan at the company. This is the department that is supposedly working on an autonomous electric car.
Based on anonymous sources, the former Apple executive is back again to oversee the company’s autonomous car ambitions. He was once led by Steve Jobs – the founder and one of the key executives of Apple.
During his working period, Mansfield was responsible for hardware development at the company. He led the development of many Apple products including the MacBook Air, iMac, and iPad. In 2013 he quit his full-time job. He continued as an advisor to the company.
However, Apple declined to comment on reports about the appointment. The tech giant is supposedly working for a long time in a car that will allegedly be brought in 2021 on the market.
